That’s right, Jorge is going to Pre K at the local elementary school. He got in because he is an English Language Learner- how cool is that. We went for an appointment to have him tested in language level and we received the name of his teacher and school location. He will go until 3pm everyday. He is really really excited.
They tested Yamile and want to put her in 5th grade 3even though she failed 2nd in Texas. I spoke to the counselor at the middle school and explained our situation. I am going there tomorrow to give them some of Yamile’s standardized test scores and for them to meet her. I am let her know that if they want to try Yamile in the school for a week and then move her that would be fine or if they discuss her situation and and decide to move her ahead of time we are fine with that too. I think Yamile will be best served in 3rd grade. I am only going to work part time this year to help her so she could possibly do forth grade but everyone I spoke to about it (three psychologists, one counselor and lots of family don’t think she will be able to handle the work and I agree).
Keep up in your prayers
Good night and God Bless,

Hi,
We have been busy bees. The kids are enjoying their new home in lovely virginia. I am enjoying unemployment for the time being. I am starting a part time job in about 3 weeks. If anyone knows of any employment opportunities for a clinical psychologist in or near Harrisonburg please drop me a line : )
Lets see we have been looking about pre school for Jorge, we think that we found one. We liked the two we saw but the one we chose has a lower child to teacher ratio. It is located in a church. Renee our new neighbor told us about it. She is really really nice.
The kids really love the neighborhood and the park near it. Yamile just got a new bike for her birthday and we got Jorge a inexpensive big wheel. He is still too small to ride his bike. Yamile’s bike is Hannah Montana, her hero.
On a rather strange note, the Welcome Center in town tested yamile and decided to recommend 5th grade for her. Mind you she failed 2nd grade this year. They say they want her with he age cohorts, I and Jim are really concerned. I can’t imagine her in 5th grade, the school is HUGE and brand new. She still has problems with the most basic of math, I mean 5 plus 10. She just can’t do it. I want her to be successful and right now I am putting it in God’s hands. I will give the school district the info they need about the Yamile and just let his plan come to action.
Good Night and God Bless,
Gina
