That was Jorge writing in case you were wondering. Yamile says te quiero much gramma. (I love you gramma) Jorge is a little bit bored right now since Yamile has a lot of homework. He is pretty wired tonight. He went to therapy with Yamile and played in the playroom while she saw her therapist. It is filled with lots of fun things and Jorge seems to have been really energized by the experience. He is also happily munching on pretzel crisps with me. I by the way have lost 3lbs since we got the kids, motherhood the natural diet : )

The kids are doing well. Jorge is as I said playing Yamile is doing her favorite thing in the world (not) MATH. They have had their bath and spaghetti for dinner and are currently snacking they are in a great mood. 

We are all starting to feel better my coughing is decreasing although still bothersome and the pluerisy is also getting better. In fact, we are able to go food shopping and get out to Target.

I don’t know if I mentioned it but Yamile can now say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag in English. She also received an 81 and 83 in reading and language arts. We are very proud of her. Her math is still not so hot but her reading has come along. She is also much more interested in learning English. We bought a bilingual tape and DVD and she and Jorge love it. They are picking up english I think without losing their spanish. We do a lot of Spanish though lately 1/2 english 1/2 Spanish, sometimes I forget which I am speaking and will speak spanish to Jim instead of the kids- that is pretty funny.  

She also had her first individual therapy session in the US and is enjoying it. Jorge likes it too b/c he gets to stay in the kids playroom at the agency and loves it.

Jorge has taken to try to scare me lately he will jump in front of me with no attempt to hids and say “did I scare you”- tiene miede- in both english and spanish i don’t have the heart to say no i always say of yes I am very scared.

The kids are doing well the only negative I have to report is that jorge like to ask for present — yo quiero presents mom? I think it is Christmas rebound!

I am going to try to get back to my regular writing- it has been hard b/c I tend to do it after the kids have gone to sleep trouble in the last month or so is half the time I am in bed before them. This bronchitis and pluerisy really has me tired. Today I was able to sleep late and the kids played hard so they are in bed and I am up for once. It is kind of nice to be up while the house is so quiet.

My bronchitis is gone but now I have pleuresy (sic) so writing is difficult. Some good news we have started Yamile in therapy. The therapist is from Colombia so we think that they will hit it off tremendously. The place where we are taking her specializes in children so there are lots of things for Jorge to do while we wait for Yamile. Yamile is excited. She was seen regularly while at the Casita de Nicolas.

She is also coming along in school working very hard on her homework. Jim has been a Godsend helping her now that I am sick. Jorge is doing well enjoying his Christmas presents and being home.

I start back to work on Monday. I am excited I have been out of work for far too long.

All in all things are going well.

We are finally home. The kids were getting tired of being on the road especially with a very sick mom. I now have respiratory disease. It is not as bad as it sounds. I have to stay home for a few more days and take it easy. I am tired of taking it easy. In addition to no cleaning it means no playing with the kids and we really miss that. Jorge and Yamile are really active kids and enjoy playing a lot. We usually do hide and seek, piggy back rides, races, - well right now can’t do any of it : (

The kids have been great, really grateful for anything they recieved and really enjoyed giving out photos of themselves to our family.
