Hi Everyone,
I am so sorry for not having written in a while. I have severe bronchitis. I was on bedrest for about a week.My oxygen level went to 83 and is now around 90. I am tired quite a bit. They have me on steriods, antibiotics, a nebulizer, an inhaler and a cough suppresent.
The kids and Jim have been great. I was not able to do much on our ride across the USA. i just slept. The kids helped with my medicine, tucked me in at night. They have been great.
We got to my parents house Christmas Eve and we have been having a wonderful time ever since. The kids enjoy giving out their Christmas gifts. We took pictures and bought frames for everyone. The kids received some lovely new clothes that they love a bunch (esp their PJs which they needed they are growing so FAST) and some cool toys. Jorge loves his car and Yamile really like a camera her tio gave her.
I wish though that i was not sick b/c we have been unable to visit any other family members and I was not able to go to church on Christmas. By the way Yamile says Hi.
Merry Christmas,
Gina, Jim, Yamile and Jorge
Hi Everyone,
Please keep us in your prayers. Jorge is now sick, he has a fever, headache, is rather listless. The doctor thinks it is a nasty virus going around Houston right now. Yamile has a cough and my bronchitis is not getting any better. Poor Jim has to care for all of us. I have been praying that the kids will be well enough to travel, they are so looking forward to it. They are very pleased about the very personal gifts we are giving to family this year….I don’t want to give it away but the kids are so pleased about them. I am trying to teach them that the joy in Christmas is not in receiving presents but in giving to others like Jesus gave to us.
We are all hoping to be well enough to travel on friday or saturday to spend a week or so with my mom and dad.
Thank you and Goodnight and God Bless,
Gina
Hi,
Since I am feeling a little better I thought I would write. I have to tell you though that I am on some serious meds so my spelling is going to be a bit off. The kids are doing well. They seem to find my illness amusing at times. At other times they are annoyed that i can’t play with them like they would like.
On a very positive note they absolutely loved gramma and grampa’s Christmas present two DVD players. I am charing them tonight so I can show them how to use it tomorrow. I think it will take several lessons as the children are less than gentle. I have almost finished packing the kids clothes. I am just waiting for Yamile’s socks to dry so that I can pack them. I think I may have overpacked…………but better safe than sorry.
Goodnight and God bless,
Gina
Hi Everyone,
I am going to be out for a least a few more days. Apparently, I have a really bad case of Bronchitis (sic). I am on antibiotics, an inhaler and some cough medicine with codine. I am out of work and not able to do too much. My spelling is terrible I know due to it.
The kids are doing well though. They seem to understand that I am ill and are being sort of careful with me. Coming to check in on me. It is very sweet.
Our family is going to be reporting good news soon, about us closer to home will be more specific when I can.
Good night and God Bless,
Gina
Well, actually only Yamile and I were sick but Jorge had no way to get to school. He had a great day tearing up the house as Yamile and slept and moved around sluggishly. At one point he got into the bathroom and decided to flush several pastic cups down it. Plunging and plunging was not so much fun as I felt pretty sick to begin with. He apologized and as I went to get some clean clothes for him played with it again. Good grief when Papi is away they really like to see what they can get away with. Needless to say he spent some time in la silla
Yamile had a fever and sore throat and I had a stomache ache. She was really crabby last night, refused to listen, started to fall asleep several times as she was complaining to me. All night she was really hot and this morning had a 100 degree fever so I kept her home. She took some motrin and by noon she was feeling better although she slept for hours longer than usual.
She is feeling lots better tonight and will be at school tomorrow.
Goodnight and God Bless,
Gina
